![]() Things you should know before requesting a tour
Please book at least three (3) weeks in advance GROUP TOURS GROUP RATES (20 or More) Groups of 20 or more:
The Museum is a detailed and moving experience. Tours average from 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours to include both facilities: the original Lorraine Motel building chronicles the Civil Rights Movement from 1619 to April 4, 1968, the day of Dr. King’s assassination. The second building across the street, which is the expansion starts in 1968 and ends in the year 2000 and includes the Young Morrow rooming house where James Earl Ray allegedly fired the fatal shot. The expansion opened in 2002. FREE PERIOD POLICY As The National Civil Rights Museum’s Community Commitment, we offer free admission each Monday from 3 p.m. until closing for Tennessee residents with state issued identification. Not applicable for tour operators or groups of six or more. This offer is not valid during holidays and special events.AUDIOS Upon availability, guests may choose audio headsets or to walk through at their own pace. The audio tour is timed for 1 hour. HOURS
