Free museum field trips for Title I Schools

The National Civil Rights Museum is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for students in grades 4-12. Thanks to AutoZone, the Museum will provide area Title I schools free museum field trips to groups of up to 45 students and 5 chaperones for its seventh year. Any Title I school in the counties of Shelby, Tipton, and Fayette in Tennessee, DeSoto in Mississippi and Crittenden in Arkansas may apply for the free field trip to visit the museum. For Shelby County Schools only, the grant covers a free museum visit and transportation.
Schools will be chosen through the application process from now to May 1, 2020. Applications will be screened based on the school’s Title I eligibility. Visits will be scheduled on TUESDAYS ONLY until May 12, 2020. Please ensure that all attending students have have media consent forms on file with your school.
Museum field trips will be scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis. If approved, you will receive detailed instructions for booking your EXPLORING THE MOVEMENT visit. Reservations must be made by Friday, May 1, 2020, with museum field trip taken by Friday, May 12, 2020. If the program fills up before May 1, you will be placed on a wait list, and will be notified if an opportunity becomes available.
